CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 19-084 CANVASSING RESULTS OF RECOUNT FOR COUNCILMEMBER WHEREAS, a Municipal Election was held on November 5, 2019; and WHEREAS, the ballot included three candidates for two St. Anthony councilmember positions; and WHEREAS, the number of votes cast for the second councilmember position was 5 votes difference between candidates. Bernard Walker and Hal Gray; and WHEREAS, a winner for this office was determined by the canvassing board in the manner provided by Minn. Stat. 204C.34; and WHEREAS, the losing candidate then requested a recount for the second councilmember position as provided in Minn. Stat. 204C.36; WHEREAS, a recount was conducted on November 15, 2019; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of St. Anthony, Ramsey and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota, acting as a canvassing board on November 26, 2019, hereby declares: 1. The following results from the recount conducted on November 15, 2019, as specified by the Recount Summary Statements, Abstract and Return of Votes Cast: Votes Cast for Bernard Walker 1,298 Votes Cast for Hal Gray 1,294 2. That no challenges were made by the candidates or their representatives on the determination of the recounted votes. 3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to amend the abstract of votes from the recount to subtract one vote for candidate Hal Gray and two votes for candidate Bernard Walker. 4. The candidate for councilmember who received the highest number of votes as determined by the recount conducted on November 15, 2019 is Bernard Walker. 5. The clerk is hereby directed to certify the results of the election to Ramsey County Elections.
