12/9/2019 https://www.savmn.com/Admin/FormCenter/Submissions/Print/1551
https://www.savmn.com/Admin/FormCenter/Submissions/Print/1551 1/3
City Council Appointment Process:
Applications due Friday, December 13, 2019 by noon. The Mayor & City Council will conduct interviews on Wednesday,
January 8, 2020. Appointment of new City Council member at January 14, 2020 City Council meeting.
Name*
Dave Colling
Email Address*
Address*
2708 27th Ave NE
City*
St. Anthony
State*
MN
Zip Code*
55418
Phone Number*
Why are you interested in this opportunity?
For decades our city has been a policy leader but for the last several years St. Anthony has been more of a follower than a
leader when it comes to creating proactive policies While cities all around us, big and small, have proactively created policies
and strategies to deal with issues of housing, business development, and community involvement, St Anthony has been more
reactive. I want to work with leaders within our community and from other cities and organizations to identify the best, most
innovative, and proven policies to move our community forward.

I think the city must do more engagement with the community. The city can be more proactive in engaging with the community,
and I have many years of experience successfully doing that.
What St. Anthony community activities have you been involved in?
I have been involved in many activities in my time living in St. Anthony. I was engaged with my neighbors living in Lowry Grove
trying to help them keep their housing, the only truly affordable housing in the city. I worked closely with my SOSA neighbors
to ensure that the development at the Lowry Grove site fit with what our neighborhood wanted and what we felt was the best
and safest use of the land. I have doorknocked and talked to hundreds of residents about their concerns in the city when I ran
for City Council 2 years ago. My son is a student at Wilshire Park Elementry and I have attended many events at the school.
Print
City Council Appointment Application - Submission #1551
Date Submitted: 12/8/2019
