2/4/2020 <br />16 <br />City of Excellence <br />Award Winner <br />“In an era of finite resources and increased demand, the <br />City of St. Anthony Village has found collaboration to <br />be fundamental to our mission of providing existing <br />and expanding services to our community members. <br />Forging a network of collaboration with numerous <br />government entities, the City has been able to build <br />relationships that enable us to maintain and expand a <br />variety of city services throughout our departments that <br />may have otherwise not existed”. <br />Sustainable City Award <br />The award is given each year to a single city that has <br />implemented a project, program, or initiative that is <br />helping the city achieve its sustainability goals through <br />implementing one or more GreenStep best practices. <br />GreenStep 5 <br />Minnesota GreenStep Cities is a voluntary program to help <br />cities achieve sustainability goals. This free continuous <br />improvement program is based upon 29 best practices. <br />Each can be implemented by completing one or more <br />actions at a 1, 2 or 3-star level, from a list of four to eight <br />actions. These actions focus on cost savings, energy use <br />reduction, and encourage innovation.
