<br />2019 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT STRATEGIC PLAN <br />The police department strategic plan continues as a living breathing <br />document evident by the items listed in the police department annual report <br />under previous year accomplishments and upcoming work plan. <br />Department administration and staff are taking actionable steps to further <br />goals pertaining to increasing community partnerships and inclusion, <br />enhancing professional development, strengthening employee wellness and <br />strengthening the accountability process all in an effort to enhance the services that we <br />are able to provide in our community. <br />More information will be presented in the Police Department’s Annual Report. <br /> <br /> <br />REVIEW AND UPDATE OF POLICE DEPARTMENT POLICY MANUAL <br /> <br /> <br />A primary goal housed on the 2019 police department strategic plan referenced a complete <br />review and update of the Department Policy Manual. This significant project was started in <br />January of 2019. An outside resource, LEXIPOL, was contracted to ensure that we adhered to <br />policy development that was grounded in Federal, State and local laws, to include pertinent <br />case law. Objectives housed under this goal included; evaluating police policies to ensure that <br />they reflect the vision and mission of the city and police department, along with evaluating <br />policies to ensure that they reflect principles that are consistent with those pertaining to <br />Procedural Justice/Fair & Impartial Policing. <br />More information will be presented in the Police Department’s Annual Report. <br /> <br />
