2019 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

13

STATE FAIR ECO EXPERIENCE
On September 23rd, the City of St. Anthony was one of eleven cities chosen
to have our day at the Minnesota State Fair to showcase our sustainability
initiatives. Council, staff and community members interacted with
hundreds of fair goers with posters, handouts and an interactive large
touch screen monitor displaying our various sustainability initiatives.
More information will be presented in the Public Works Department’s
Annual Report.

MINNESOTA GREENCORPS
In October of 2018, St. Anthony welcomed its third Minnesota GreenCorps
Member, Minette Saulog. Minette comes to the City as a recent graduate
from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where she majored in
Sustainable Systems Management and completed a double minor in
Business Management and Environmental Science. The focus area for her
service year is Air Pollutant Reduction and Energy Conservation. Some of
Minette’s projects include conducting energy assessments and retrofits on
the city’s facilities, promoting green transportation such as biking,
walking and public transit, and working with residents to make their homes more energy
efficient.
MN GreenCorps is an 11-month AmeriCorps program coordinated by the Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency. The program is an effort to preserve and protect Minnesota’s environment
while training a new generation of environmental professionals. It first began in 2009, funded
by grants from ServeAmerica and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Minette will serve as St. Anthony’s GreenCorps member through August 2019.
More information will be presented in the Public Works Department’s Annual Report.
