Opportunities for 2020 <br />5 <br />1.Expand Bee Lawns: The state of Minnesota is offering Legume to Lawns <br />grants to convert turf grass into Bee Lawns. <br />Recommendation: Ask Public Works to evaluate other areas within our parks, <br />where the terrain is challenging to maintain, and identify where we might <br />want to plant Bee Lawns to reduce risks in maintenance. <br />2.Introduce Pollinator Plants in current public plantings: We have existing <br />flower beds in public spaces that can use a fresher look: (outside city hall, <br />Water Tower Park, Central Park bio-swale) <br />Recommendations: <br />1.Purchase extra wildflower seeds to over-plant Central Park bio-swale <br />and Silver Point rain garden. <br />2.Organize a plant swap and ask gardeners to share native plant divides <br />to refresh park plantings. <br />Questions: <br />6
