The property is zoned R-1,
Single Family Residential, and is surrounded primarily by single family neighborhood in all directions.
The Applicants have provided a diagram
of the property showing the location and
dimensions of the chicken coop in
relation to their property. The proposed
location runs parallel to the rear property
line, placed along the south side of the
property. The proposed chicken coop
structure would be approximately 3 feet
wide by 5 feet long, with an open fenced
“run” of 5 feet by 10 feet, extending east
from the coop. The application does not
specify height of the coop or run.
According to the application provided by
the applicants, the coop is proposed to
be located approximately 6 feet from the
south rear yard boundary line and 12
feet from the east boundary line. The
chicken coop will be shielded by
neighboring sheds, bushes and a partial
fence. For accessory buildings, a setback requirement from adjoining side and rear lot lines is 5 feet.
Although the text states that the structure will be 6 feet from the rear lot lines, the site plan provided is
not drawn to scale or dimensioned.
39
