CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 20-044 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST TO KEEP THREE (3) FEMALE <br />CHICKENS IN AN R-1 ZONING DISTRICT AT 3509 31ST AVE NE <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff received a request from Mandy and Ryan Grunklee <br />for permission to keep chickens on their property located at 3509 31st Ave NE; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony Code of Ordinances, Section 91.56, Keeping of <br />Certain Animals, specifies that livestock, including fowl, require approval from the City Council; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Mandy and Ryan Grunklee have submitted a written request for approval <br />from the City Council, as outlined in Subsection 91.56, to approve their request to keep chickens; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Mandy and Ryan Grunklee have submitted a geographical description of <br />the placement of the enclosure that will house the chickens in relation to their property; and <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County Environmental Health Division has stated that this matter <br />is within the City’s jurisdiction and authority; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St. <br />Anthony Village approves the request to keep three (3) female chickens in an R-1 Zoning District <br />at 3509 31st Ave NE. <br /> AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the placement of the coop must meet setback <br />requirements of at least 5 feet from the side and rear property lines. <br /> <br />APPROVED in the regular session of the City Council on May 12, 2020. <br /> <br /> <br />_________________________________________ <br /> Randy Stille, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST:___________________________ <br /> Nicole Miller, City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />Review for Administration: _______________________________________ <br /> Mark Casey, City Manager <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />13
