<br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor & Council <br />FROM: Mark Casey, City Manager <br />RE: Good Friday & Columbus Day <br />DATE: July 7, 2020 <br />Currently in our labor contracts with our three unions (Police, Fire and Public Works), Good Friday and <br />Columbus Day are paid holidays. City Hall is also closed on both those days. Staff will begin union <br />contract negations in the coming months and wish to recommend not formally recognizing Good Friday <br />and Columbus Day as paid holidays and instead providing staff two floating paid holidays and keeping <br />City Hall open on those days effective 2021. <br /> <br />
