July 15th, 2020

St. Anthony City Council
3301 Silver Lake Road
St. Anthony, MN 55418

Dear Council Members,

We are requesting a permit to keep 6 chickens in our backyard at 3529 Edward St. NE. We are
fortunate to have a large backyard, so we love the idea of using some land to raise hens for
eggs to feed our family and friends. It will also be a great experience for our children, so they
can learn to be responsible and respectful of animals.

Our coop and run will be located toward the back of our property, at least 20 feet from
neighboring properties. It will be built and painted to match the exterior or our home, and it will
be situated between many fruit trees and plants, so it will not be very visible to neighbors. Since
we have predators in the neighborhood, the run will be enclosed using hardware cloth on the
sides and top.

Below you will find a sketch of the coop, list of materials, and location in our yard. Thank you for
considering our request and please contact us if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Nikoline, Tony, Raury, and Celeste Tushar

23
