City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />July 28, 2020 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Councilmember Webster indicated she was looking at the City’s work with the Government 2 <br />Alliance on Race and Equity Cohort and she knew the Police Department has sent out and 3 <br />provided a lot of data that is available to the residents on the City website and she noticed 4 <br />another piece of data that might become available and was not sure if that was just for internal 5 <br />use regarding code enforcement or is that something that will be made public. Mr. Casey 6 <br />explained when the City has the results those will be made public. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Stille thanked Mr. Casey for the report and work on the goals even with all of the extra 9 <br />work being done with COVID-19. 10 <br /> 11 <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Councilmember Jenson stated he attended the Metro Cities meeting at the beginning of July they 14 <br />started to compile an ad hoc committee to review the policies in order to have them written 15 <br />through a race equity lens. He has applied to be on the committee. He noted he also ordered and 16 <br />started reading a book called How to be an Anti-Racist by Ivran X Kennedy along with other 17 <br />books, one called Blink by Malcolm Gladwell and Time for the Truth by Som Young Soon. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Councilmember Webster stated on July 18, 2020h she and Councilmember Walker hosted Coffee 20 <br />with the Council, a virtual session through Zoom and she believed there were five residents that 21 <br />participated. She appreciated all of the great comments and questions from the residents. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Councilmember Walker stated apart from answering emails, having Zoom meetings and phone 24 <br />calls from residents concerning graduating class signs, he found it interesting to have a 25 <br />diplomatic conversation with residents depending on where they are and what side of the fence 26 <br />they are on regarding a number of issues. He noted that is a learning process. He also stated the 27 <br />Coffee with the Council was very informal and last a couple of hours and was a very intimate 28 <br />interaction with the residents and a very good discussion. He looked forward to having similar 29 <br />Coffee with the Council meetings like that in the future. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Stille stated he attended the Kiwanis meeting on July 15, 2020. He presented an informal 32 <br />Stay of the City address talking about the City’s goals and how COVID-19 is being addressed. 33 <br />He noted Councilmember Jenson was there as well. There were also three youth scholarships 34 <br />awarded that night. 35 <br /> 36 <br />VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Mayor Stille invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that 39 <br />are not on the regular agenda. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Hearing none, Mayor Stille moved forward with the agenda. 42 <br /> 43 <br />IX.
