City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />July 28, 2020 <br />Page 3 <br />1 <br />2 Councilmember Webster indicated she was looking at the City's work with the Government <br />3 Alliance on Race and Equity Cohort and she knew the Police Department has sent out and <br />4 provided a lot of data that is available to the residents on the City website and she noticed <br />5 another piece of data that might become available and was not sure if that was just for internal <br />6 use regarding code enforcement or is that something that will be made public. Mr. Casey <br />7 explained when the City has the results those will be made public. <br />8 <br />9 Mayor Stille thanked Mr. Casey for the report and work on the goals even with all of the extra <br />10 work being done with COVID-19. <br />11 <br />12 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />13 <br />14 Councilmember Jenson stated he attended the Metro Cities meeting at the beginning of July they <br />15 started to compile an ad hoc committee to review the policies in order to have them written <br />16 through a race equity lens. He has applied to be on the committee. He noted he also ordered and <br />17 started reading a book called How to be an Anti -Racist by Ivran X Kennedy along with other <br />18 books, one called Blink by Malcolm Gladwell and Time for the Truth by Som Young Soon. <br />19 <br />20 Councilmember Webster stated on July 18, 2020h she and Councilmember Walker hosted Coffee <br />21 with the Council, a virtual session through Zoom and she believed there were five residents that <br />22 participated. She appreciated all of the great comments and questions from the residents. <br />23 <br />24 Councilmember Walker stated apart from answering emails, having Zoom meetings and phone <br />25 calls from residents concerning graduating class signs, he found it interesting to have a <br />26 diplomatic conversation with residents depending on where they are and what side of the fence <br />27 they are on regarding a number of issues. He noted that is a learning process. He also stated the <br />28 Coffee with the Council was very informal and last a couple of hours and was a very intimate <br />29 interaction with the residents and a very good discussion. He looked forward to having similar <br />30 Coffee with the Council meetings like that in the future. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Stille stated he attended the Kiwanis meeting on July 15, 2020. He presented an informal <br />33 Stay of the City address talking about the City's goals and how COVID-19 is being addressed. <br />34 He noted Councilmember Jenson was there as well. There were also three youth scholarships <br />35 awarded that night. <br />36 <br />37 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />38 <br />39 Mayor Stille invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />40 are not on the regular agenda. <br />41 <br />42 Hearing none, Mayor Stille moved forward with the agenda. <br />43 <br />44 IX.
