REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />Meeting Date: September 22, 2020 <br />Resolution - Authorizing DDA Human Resources, Inc. as the Executive Firm to assist with the search <br />for a City Manager <br />OVERVIEW: <br />At its regular meeting on August 11, 2020 the Council accepted the resignation of City Manager Mark <br />Casey and asked staff send a Request for Proposals (RFP) to executive search firms. The RFP was sent <br />out to firms that work in the public sector and have Minnesota experience. Those firms were: <br />•Baker Tilly <br />•David Drown and Associates <br />•GovHR <br />•Hue Life <br />•The Mercer Group <br />The due date for receipt of proposals was August 24, 2020 and proposals were received from Baker <br />Tilly, David Drown and Associates, and GovHR. <br />At its Work Session on August 31, 2020 the City Council discussed the proposals and David Drown <br />and Associates was the lead candidate overall. The Council agreed to have Mayor Stille and <br />Councilmember Jenson contact David Drown and Associates to further discuss their proposal and <br />report back. <br />Mayor Stille and Councilmember Jenson reported back to the City Council at its Work Session on <br />September 14, 2020 that David Drown and Associates was willing to complete the search for $21,000. <br />The Council briefly discussed priority areas for the search, with further discussion to follow, and <br />agreed to formally accept the proposal at its regular City Council Meeting on September 22, 2020. <br />37
