2
Anthony Max Spriggs, my father, fought at D-day. With an all
African American unit, and risked his life for this country. When
he returned from the war, he had to sit in the back of the bus
and drink from separate water fountains.

When the Confederate Flag was flown in the Nation Capital
and how it has become a staple of the Ku Klux Klan rallies and
how it has been it is waved to intimidate Black children who
were integrating schools after Brown vs. the Board of
Education. There should be no place for it in public places.

The Confederate Flag represents the states that disfranchise
Black Citizens. It is a flag that will be associated with the
January 6 insurrection. The Rebel Flag had never been flown
to my knowledge inside the halls of Congress.

In the picture that shows the Confederate flag in the halls of
Congress, there is a picture in the background of Summer, a
representative from Mississippi who was beaten by Preston
Brooks in May of 1856 on the floor of Congress for speaking
out about slavery.

So an Ordance should be introduced banning the Confederate
flag from being displayed in public places.

Thanks, Dan Spriggs

Email not displaying correctly?
