1
Charlie Yunker
From:David Tessier <damars07@yahoo.com>
Sent:Wednesday, January 27, 2021 11:54 AM
To:Randy Stille; Tom Randle; Bernard Walker; Jan Jenson; Wendy Webster; *SAPlanner;
Charlie Yunker
Subject:Proposed BLVD Auto Works
Caution: This email originated outside our organization; please use caution.

January 27, 2021

Mayor Randy Stille and City Council Members
St Anthony Village
3301 Silver Lake Rd
St Anthony, MN 55418

Dear Mayor Stille and City Council members,

I am writing about the car wash and after listening to last evenings City Council presentation on the proposed by BLVD
Auto Works I had to share my comments. As a resident of St. Anthony since 1961, I am opposed to the proposed
application for a car wash at 2701 Kenzie Terrace.

Annually you ask residents ‘conserve precious water resources’ and imposed permanent water restrictions (Resolution
17-032), yet we are looking to approve a car wash that washes vehicles using a fair amount of water. The City for many
years has implemented a water conservation plan for commercial and residential usage. Not just within St. Anthony but
nationwide, we all play a role in conserving water and being responsible water consumers. In addition, by reducing water
consumption, it diverts harmful agents from our groundwater, rivers, and wastewater treatment systems. We need to
examine the impact of water usage on our City, if we consider approximately 35 gallons per vehicle, and we heard at the
January 26 meeting, they are proposing an average 100 cars a day — that is 3,500 gallons a day, 105,000 gallons per
month, or 1.26 million gallons per year of water consumption and sewer usage.

Please consider the long term effects this proposed development will have on the residents of St. Anthony, we ask that
you deny the CUP application for a car wash.

Sincerely,

Marlene Tessier
2917 32nd Avenue NE
Minneapolis, MN 55418

229
