2020 Annual Report • Finance Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />TRACKING OUTCOMES OF GREEN INITATIVES <br />In 2016, St. Anthony became part of the Metropolitan Council Community Solar Garden <br />Collaborative that facilitated a group-buy of solar garden subscriptions with different <br />municipalities in the area. In 2020 the Big Lake solar installation that is associated with City Hall <br />generated kWh’s of 512,756. The Fire department’s designated solar installation produced 77,823 <br />kWhs. The solar garden subscription linked to city parks is anticipated to be operational in 2021. <br />The City facilities associated with the Solar subscriptions are shown below: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />During 2019 the US Solar gardens subscriptions came online and produced $9,900 in savings on <br />electrical costs. The 2020’s full years savings equaled $18,500 for City Hall and $1,100 for the Fire <br />station. The original projections estimated the net present value of the city’s electric cost savings <br />over a 25-year life at $330,000. The early results of the program are in line with the original <br />estimates. <br /> <br />
