ANTHONY 1 <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 2 <br />JUNE 8, 2021 3 <br /> 4 <br />CALL TO ORDER. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Mayor Stille called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 7 <br /> 8 <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Stille invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. 11 <br /> 12 <br />ROLL CALL. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Present: Mayor Stille, Councilmembers Jenson, Randle, Walker and Webster. 15 <br />Absent: None 16 <br />Also Present: City Manager Charlie Yunker, Kiwanis President Linda Foster and District 17 <br />Engagement Coordinator Bonnie Brever. 18 <br /> 19 <br /> 20 <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING 21 <br />ITEMS. 22 <br /> 23 <br />I. APPROVAL OF JUNE 8, 2021 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Motion by Councilmember Randle, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City 26 <br />Council Meeting Agenda of June 8, 2021 as presented. 27 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 28 <br /> 29 <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. 30 <br /> 31 <br />A. Welcome Initiative Presentation 32 <br /> 33 <br />Ms. Bonnie Brever, District Engagement Coordinator, St. Anthony-New Brighton School 34 <br />District and Ms. Linda Foster appeared before the City Council. Ms. Brever stated this is the 35 <br />latest initiative in cooperation with the Kiwanis to welcome new residents to the City. A task 36 <br />force was formed and meetings were held. She showed a bag that was available from 37 <br />Community Services. The flip book provides important information to people moving into the 38 <br />City. This includes a calendar of events that are schedule specific. Ms. Foster spoke about the 39 <br />protect DNA information to be included in the bag. The Police Department or Kiwanis have 40 <br />additional copies of the DNA information. Seventy-five bags have already been distributed. 41 <br />Thirty more bags will be delivered shortly along with some additional information next week. 42 <br />The names used are coming from the City water utility. They are wondering how to reach 43 <br />apartment residents and one suggestion is to contact the apartment management. VillageFest will 44 <br />host a new resident mixer on August 7 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. They invited new members to join 45 <br />the Kiwanis. 46 <br /> 47 <br />11
