12/14/2021 <br />4 <br />Outcomes: Student-led Projects 1 & 2 <br />Zero Waste Holiday Outreach <br />Ecology Club Field Trip to Raptor Center <br />•Dec 2019- Green Team <br />•Zero Waste personal care and gift- <br />giving outreach and education <br />•Students ran educational table <br />during lunch hours for SAMS/SAVHS, <br />talked with interested students and <br />distributed 75 educational fliers <br />•Feb 2020- Wilshire Park Ecology Club <br />(Grades 3&4) <br />•Students learned about birds and how they <br />survive winter prior to trip <br />•Trip to U of MN Raptor Center to learn bird <br />rehab and common dangers for urban <br />raptors <br />Outcomes: Student-Led Projects 3 & 4 <br />Youth Climate Justice Summit <br />Save The Bees Fundraising Concert <br />❑Feb 2020, 13 students from SAMS LEAP <br />and SAVHS Green Team ❑Youth Climate Justice Summit at the <br />state capital <br />❑Lobbied for climate legislation to <br />senators and representatives with <br />other youth from around the state <br />❑High School Green Team and National Honor <br />Society students <br />❑Co-organized fundraising concert featuring <br />student musicians. <br />❑Event intent to raise awareness of declining <br />honeybee populations, raise money for <br />University of Minnesota Bee Research Lab <br />❑Students raised $3,559.28!
