MEMORANDUM <br />To:Mayor Stille and St. Anthony Village City Council <br />From:Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />Date:City Council Meeting – February 22, 2022 <br />Resolution- Authorizing Participation in the 2022-2023 GreenCorp’s Program <br />OVERVIEW: <br />In front of you this evening is a Resolution to authorize staff submitting an application to be a <br />GreenCorp host site for the 2022-2023 program year. <br />Minnesota GreenCorp is an AmeriCorp Program coordinated by the Minnesota Pollution Control <br />Agency (MPCA). The goal of MN GreenCorp is to preserve and protect Minnesota’s <br />environment while training a new generation of environmental professionals. <br />The City of St. Anthony applied each year since 2012 and was awarded a GreenCorp member for <br />the 2012-2013, 2015-2016 and 2018-2019 program years. We were also awarded a GreenCorp <br />member for 2020-2021 but had to unfortunately withdraw our application due to staffing <br />changes. We applied but were not awarded a member in 2021-2022.With the assistance of the <br />GreenCorp member, the City has established several sustainable programs that will continue to <br />benefit the City for many years to come. The GreenCorp member would be compensated by the <br />MPCA and St. Anthony would be responsible for supervision and office space.
