Page 3 <br />2.1.Appliances (Major) <br />Household appliances items such as clothes washers and dryers, dishwashers, hot water heaters, <br />heat pumps, furnaces, garbage disposal, Refuse compactors, conventional and microwave ovens, <br />ranges and stoves, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, and freezers. Gas ammonia <br />appliances are not included under this definition as they are considered hazardous waste. <br />2.2.Bulky Waste <br />Large items such as, but not limited to, bathtubs, beds, mattresses, bikes, carpet (bundled, less than <br />four feet in length, and less than 45 pounds), chairs, couches, doors, dressers, exercise equipment, <br />garage door openers, gas grills (without tank), lawnmowers (drained), pallets, sinks, swing set (less <br />than four feet in length and less than 45 pounds), tables, toilets, vacuums, water softeners, <br />windows, construction debris (less than four feet in length and less than 45 pounds), and household <br /> items that are too large to fit into the Refuse cart. <br />2.3.Cart <br />Small (approximately 35-gallons), medium (approximately 65-gallons), and large (approximately 95- <br />gallons) carts with hinged lids and wheels used for the Collection of Refuse, Recycling, and Yard <br />Waste. <br />2.4.Collection <br />The aggregation of material from the place at which it is generated and includes all activities up to <br />the time the material is delivered to a solid waste facility. Material Collection will occur at curb and <br />alley locations. <br />2.5.Composition <br />The Composition of recyclable materials as an estimated percentage based on the results of the <br />Recycling Composition Analysis. <br />2.6.Compostable Bag(s) <br />Compostable bags must meet all the specifications in ASTM Standard Specification for Compostable <br />Plastics (D6400) compostable bags. Acceptable bags include paper lawn and leaf bags, paper <br />grocery store bags, and certified compostable plastic bags. <br />2.7.Composting Facility <br />Facility permitted to process Yard Waste and/or Source Separated Organics in conformance with <br />state and local regulations. <br />2.8.Contaminants as Collected <br />The materials set out by Customers in their Recycling Cart that are not recyclable as defined in <br />this Contract. <br />2.9.Contract <br />This final Agreement once executed by both parties, the City and the Contractor.
