This letter is to inform you of the City’s intent to extend the timeframe for consideration of your application for a Conditional Use Permit for a fence on your property from 60 days to 120 days from the date of application, pursuant to the requirements of MN Stat Section 15.99. The Conditional Use Permit is scheduled for public hearing at the Planning Commission on March 15, 2022, after which the City Council is expected to consider the item at its regular meeting on April 12, 2022. Due to the timing of the calendar and the date you submitted your request (February 7, 2022), the original 60 day period expires on April 8, 2022. To allow for adequate time needed to schedule the City Council meeting’s review, the City hereby extends the time to make a decision on the matter to June 7, 2022. Despite this notice, the City expects to address the item by the April 12 date noted above. As noted, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on this matter on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. You should have already received a copy of that public hearing notice, and the staff report should be available to you later this week.
