CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 22-045 <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST TO KEEP FOUR (4) FEMALE CHICKENS <br />IN AN R-1 ZONING DISTRICT AT 3304 32ND AVE NE <br />WHEREAS, staff received a request from Stephanie and Stefan Gingerich and family, <br />for permission to keep chickens on the property located at 3304 32nd Ave NE; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony Code of Ordinances, Section 91.56, Keeping of Certain <br />Animals, specifies that livestock, including fowl, require approval from the City <br />Council; and <br />WHEREAS, Stephanie and Stefan Gingerich and family have submitted a written request for <br />approval from the City Council, as outlined in Subsection 91.56, to approve their <br />request to keep chickens; and <br />WHEREAS, Stephanie and Stefan Gingerich and family have submitted a geographical <br />description of the placement of the enclosure that will house the chickens in <br />relation to their property; and <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County Environmental Health Division has stated that this matter is <br />within the City’s jurisdiction and authority; and <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony <br />Village approves the request to keep four (4) female chickens in an R-1 Zoning District at 3304 <br />32nd Ave NE. <br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the placement of the coop must meet setback <br />requirements of at least 5 feet from the side and rear property lines. <br />APPROVED in the regular session of the City Council on May 10, 2022. <br />_________________________________________ <br /> Randy Stille, Mayor <br />ATTEST:___________________________ <br /> City Clerk <br />Review for Administration: _______________________________________ <br /> Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />23
