CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 22-080 <br />A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE <br />CITY OF ST ANTHONY VILLAGE GRANT APPLICATION SUBMITTAL FOR THE <br />2022/2023 MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, $3.5 million in Active Transportation funding is available, with a minimum of $50,000 and <br />cap of $500,000 for each project: <br />WHEREAS, Active Transportation Program funds can be used to reimburse construction costs on Active <br />Transportation eligible items, and construction costs above the Active Transportation grant <br />award will need to have alternate funding sources: <br />WHEREAS, the project is located on St Anthony Blvd between Ridgway Pkwy and Minneapolis Diagonal <br />Trail, which currently presents safety hazards for people walking or biking: <br />WHEREAS, the project will address safety hazards and boost health benefits by providing an off-street <br />trail separated from motor vehicle traffic and an updated sidewalk: <br />WHEREAS, the project is identified in both the 2009 and 2019 Grand Rounds Missing Link Master Plans <br />and the St. Anthony 2040 Comprehensive Plan: <br />WHEREAS, the project will benefit people walking and biking across multiple agencies including the City <br />of St Anthony Village, the City of Minneapolis, and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation <br />Board Grand Rounds Scenic Byway: <br />WHEREAS, the project is anticipated to be constructed in 2023 and the cost estimate for the construction <br />of the project is $418,675: <br />WHEREAS, this trail segment completes a key portion of Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway Missing <br />Link, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony Village that: <br />1. The City Council supports the construction of the project and agrees to maintain such <br />improvements. <br />2. The City Council supports submittal of the Active Transportation application. <br />3.
