<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> <br />To: City of Saint Anthony Village Parks & Environmental Commission <br />From: Jeremy Gumke, Public Works Director and Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />Date: March 6, 2023 Parks & Environmental Commission Meeting <br />Request: 2023 Work Plan Schedule <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />At its annual Goal Setting session, the City Council reviewed the draft 2023 Work Plan submitted by the Parks & <br />Environmental Commission. There were no changes discussed at that session, and the City Council subsequently <br />approved the work plan formally at their February 14, 2023 regular meeting. <br />When discussing the draft work plan, the commission asked to schedule the activities included in the work plan <br />over the upcoming year. As a result, staff is proposing the below schedule for the 2023 work plan items: <br /> <br />March 6, 2023 <br />Regular Meeting <br />June 5, 2023 <br />Regular Meeting <br />September 11, 2023 <br />Regular Meeting <br />December 4, 2023 <br />Regular Meeting <br />• Consider endorsement of <br />“No Mow May” campaign <br />• Prioritize results of parks <br />evaluation <br /> <br />• Review annual walk-though <br />of all City parks <br />• Pedestrian & bike friendly <br />routes for recreation and <br />transportation <br />TBD TBD <br />Worksessions/agenda items to be scheduled as Climate Action Planning process unfolds <br />• Create Energy and Climate Action Plans <br />• Explore expansion of solar installation on Central Park Pavilion rooftop <br />• Joint meeting with the City Council and Planning Commission <br /> <br />Ongoing throughout 2023 <br />• Continue education & outreach in conjunction with community organizations to promote sustainability <br />• Continue collaborations to enhance City green space, including with parks cleanup and pollinator plantings <br />• Support City’s efforts to establish partnership to bring electric vehicle charging stations to public areas <br />
