i. Current: None <br />ii. Proposed: VEHICLE, RECREATIONAL: <br />1. A vehicle that is used and licensed primarily for recreational or vacation <br />purposes, and which is licensed and operable for use on public roadways, <br />whether self-propelled, carried on, or towed behind, a self-propelled vehicle. <br />2. Operable recreational equipment that is not licensed for used on the public <br />roadway, but used off-road, such as all-terrain vehicles, boats, off-road <br />motorcycles, race vehicles, snowmobiles, or similar equipment. Such <br />equipment shall be properly licensed if the State of Minnesota provides for <br />such licensing. <br />3. Licensed, operable trailers which may be used to tow recreational equipment, <br />whether such trailers are loaded or unloaded, including utility trailers. Where <br />a trailer is loaded with recreational equipment, such trailer and equipment <br />shall be considered to be one (1) piece of equipment for the purposes of this <br />section. <br />f. Trailer/Utility - Regulate Separately; or include with recreational vehicle? <br />g. Surfacing <br />i. Current: various (requires checking various sections for consistency) <br />ii. Option: PAVED: A parking space or storage space which is paved as required in this <br />Section with asphalt, concrete, pavers, or surfaced with crushed rock, such as Class V <br />limestone, crushed or decomposed granite, “con-bit”, or landscaping rock of adequate <br />durability to support the load parked or stored thereon. materials to match current <br />compliant driveway section with pavement. <br /> <br />UNSURFACED: A storage space which is covered by vegetation, such as grass or other <br />landscaped cover, and which is mowed or trimmed to meet the City’s weed control <br />regulations. Unsurfaced space may not include bare ground which may be subject to <br />erosion, tracking of mud onto the roadway, or drainage of silt into a public drainage <br />easement or waterway. <br />h. Paving/Pavement <br />i. Current: (In 96.03 – ROW Management): PAVEMENT. Any type of improved surface <br />that is within the public right-of-way and that is paved or otherwise constructed with <br />bituminous, concrete, or aggregate. <br />(In 152.179(3) – Zoning): (3) All vehicles, as defined in § 152.008, parked on any lot in <br />an R-l, R-1A, R-2, or R-3 District must be parked on a surface paved with asphalt or <br />bituminous material, concrete, cement, brick, or other durable paver surface, <br />ii. Proposed: PAVED: A parking space or storage space which is surfaced with only the <br />following materials: Asphalt, concrete, and natural or man-made paving stones such <br />as brick, granite, or concrete pavers, provided such pavers have a flat surface area of <br />no less than nine square inches. <br /> <br />Other aspects of the proposed amendment: <br /> <br />10
