City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 13, 2023 <br />Page 6 <br />1 Mr. Grittman stated there is currently no language in the Code for temporary signs. All of the <br />2 signage rules relate to permanent signage. These are rules for temporary signs. The plan would <br />3 be to educate the business community over time. <br />4 <br />4.5 Various Administrative updates and adjustments (including penalties, and adjustments to <br />6 prior amendments to eliminate inconsistencies with other codes, etc.) <br />7 <br />8 Mayor Stille asked about temporary storage areas and if that is covered in the code. Mr. <br />9 Grittman stated it is part of the code already. <br />10 <br />11 Councilmember Walker asked about the height of the material in the dumpster, noting dumpsters <br />12 are designed to hold materials that will fit within it. <br />13 <br />5.14 Amendments to the City’s Building Code adoption. These changes have been recommended <br />15 by the Building Official and staff. <br />16 <br />17 Staff and the Planning Commission recommend that the City Council approve the First Reading <br />18 of the proposed amendments to the City Code as reflected in the attached ordinance and as <br />19 reflected in the code language and commentaries, with modifications as directed. Alternative <br />20 motions would be to recommend denial of the amendments, based on findings to be identified as <br />21 a part of the City Council discussion or to table action on the amendments, to allow for further <br />22 research and editing as directed by the Council. <br />23 <br />24 Motion by Councilmember Webster, seconded by Councilmember Walker, approve First <br />25 Reading of Ordinance 2023-01 – Approving Changes to Multiple Sections in the City Code. <br />26 <br />27 Motion carried 3-0. <br />28 <br />29 VII.REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />30 <br />31 City Manager Yunker reported the Parks and Environmental Commission met regarding the <br />32 Climate Plan. The survey was launched and can be found on the main page of the website. Over <br />33 100 responses have been received so far. <br />34 <br />35 Councilmember Walker stated Urban Grove is having a ribbon cutting ceremony, which he will <br />36 attend. <br />37 <br />38 Councilmember Webster stated on May 25 the Citizen’s League sponsored a webinar which she <br />39 attended. <br />40 <br />41 Mayor Stille stated on June 5 he attended the Regional Council of Mayors Meeting. <br />42 <br />43 VIII.COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />44 <br />45 No one appeared to address the City Council. <br />46 <br />8
