Emerald Ash Borer Management Plan
City of St. Anthony Village, MN
WSB Project No. 022315-000 Page 8
Figure 1:Amount of Ash Trees per Condition Class Vs. Diameter Class

Diameter (DBH) Inches of Ash Trees
Within the last year, St. Anthony Village has leveraged grant dollars, and a
Forestry-assigned AmeriCorps member to implement tree status updates in the
field with a new online mapping system called ArcGIS Online. This will help
ensure the data stays updated as crews and contractors remove, prune, inject
or plant trees.

6.0 Program Administration and Impact
The Public Works Department encompasses five divisions (streets, utilities, parks,
fleet maintenance, and engineering) and will take the lead role in implementing the
EAB plan and associated program. Staff will work collaboratively to implement public
education, outreach, and the best management practices (BMPs) to handle emerald
ash borer and ash trees throughout St. Anthony Village. The Public Works
Superintendent position will serve as the primary point person for EAB questions,
concerns, and plan implementation (along with many other duties).
Implementing the EAB management plan will spread out the financial and staffing
requirements over a ten-year period but will still require additional City resources.
EAB management has financial and other implications that exceed the City’s current
Public Works budget allocations.
0
2
4
6
8
10
12
4567.59111314.5161819202122232526.52829333642Dead or Dying - Fraxinus
Excellent - Fraxinus
Fair - Fraxinus
Good - Fraxinus
Poor - Fraxinus
(blank) - Fraxinus
