City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 26, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />Mayor Stille stated this is an example of the caliber of staff St. Anthony has and thanked him for <br />his service. <br />C. Swearing in of 3 St. Anthony Police Officers : Quinton Barth Keeton Roden & Elizabeth <br />Villanueva. <br />8 Police Chief Mangseth introduced the three new St. Anthony Police Officers and provided <br />9 background information on each candidate. Photogaphs were taken with the Mayor and family <br />10 members. <br />11 <br />12 D. Fire Prevention Presentation. <br />13 <br />14 Fire Chief Sitarz introduced Fire Captain Mattie Jaros. <br />15 <br />16 Fire Captain Mattie Jaros provided a power point presentation. The theme for this year is <br />17 Cooking safety starts with YOU ! Pay attention to fire prevention. Captain Jaros reviewed <br />18 Cooking Fire Statistics and Safety Tips as well as Fire Safety with Kids. The Fire Department <br />19 Open House will be held Saturday October 7, 2023 from 1 :00 — 4 :00 p.m. and will include <br />20 meeting firefighters, touring the fire trucks, learning about the Fire Department, outside agencies <br />21 will be on hand for additional education, and lunch provided for this free event. <br />22 <br />23 Councilmember Webster stated she appreciates the focus on prevention. <br />24 <br />25 Councilmember Walker asked if the cooking fires are number 1, what are number 2 and 3? Fire <br />26 Captain Jaros stated smoking. He asked more about putting water on a grease fire. <br />27 <br />28 Councilmember Jenson stated he liked the presentation. He asked why some restaurants have <br />29 large water spigots to put out grease fires. <br />30 <br />31 Mayor Stille invited all residents to the Open House. <br />32 <br />33 I1I. CONSENT AGENDA. <br />34 <br />35 A. Approval of September 23, 2023 City Council Meeting Minutes. <br />36 B. Licenses and Permits. <br />37 C. Claims. <br />38 <br />39 Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Walker, to approve the Consent <br />40 Agenda items. <br />41 <br />42 Motion carried 5-0. <br />43 <br />44 IV. PUBLIC HEARING - NONE. <br />45 <br />46 V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF - NONE. <br />
