Ensure that plans are in place to improve key intersections <br />and routes. <br />● Evaluate the feasibility to restripe and redesign streets that are common <br />commuter routes to include a bike lane. <br />● Discuss incentivizing residents to use alternative modes of transportation <br />by zoning for limited parking at facilities and event spaces that have sufficient <br />pedestrian infrastructure connecting to existing nearby parking. <br />INITIATIVE 1 <br />IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY AND INCREASE <br />USE OF NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION <br />INFRASTRUCTURE <br />DESCRIPTION: To reduce the emissions created by vehicle miles traveled, <br />the City can continue to address gaps in the pedestrian and bike networks and <br />improve areas not currently in compliance with ADA standards. The City can <br />also explore incentives for residents to use alternative modes of transportation. <br />TIMELINE: 2024 - 2027 <br />METRICS: Collect annual average daily traffic (AADT) and pedestrian counts throughout the improvement <br />process to measure the impact of the changes. <br />CLIMATE PLAN 2023 >> 37
