Why do you want to serve on a St. Anthony Village Commission?* It would be an honor to serve the City of St. Anthony as a Planning Commissioner, and I believe I have the appropriate experience and knowledge to do so successfully. I graduated from San Diego State University in 2016 with a Masters in Public Administration, focused on City Planning. I was employed by the City of Encinitas in California for almost 5 years as a Land Use Planner, working with both the Planning Commission and City Council on resolving very challenging, controversial, coastal land use initiatives, which ultimately helped the City progress. After moving to St. Anthony in 2020, I was employed by the City of Columbia Heights as their City Planner until giving birth to our first child last year. There, I also worked very closely with the Planning Commission and City Council in crafting and passing policies, explaining proposed land use initiatives, and ensuring that the proposed land uses were what was best and most fitting for the community. I fully understand the roles and responsibilities that a Planning Commissioner ought to hold, and I hope to give back to this beautiful community by serving as one.
