The quotes were checked for mathematical accuracy. Please find <br />enclosed the bid summary indicating the low bid as submitted by Keys Well Drilling Company, St. <br />Paul, MN in the amount of $98,830.00 for the Base Bid. The Engineer’s Estimate was <br />$133,230.00 for the base bid. <br /> <br />In addition, costs were requested for two alternate items as follows: Key’s Quote <br /> Alternate No. 1 – New Pump Bowl Assembly $13,000 <br /> Alternate No. 2 – Well Maintenance Work $83,000 <br /> <br />It should be noted that Alternates No. 1 & No. 2 are items that may or may not be required to <br />complete the well rehabilitation. The need for Alternates No. 1 & No. 2 will be determined <br />following removal and inspection of the pump and casing during the construction process. It <br />should also be noted that if Alternate No. 1 & No. 2 are determined necessary approximately <br />$38,580 in Base Bid items would be eliminated as they would no longer be necessary thereby <br />resulting in an estimated maximum total project cost of $156,250. <br /> <br />We recommend that the City Council consider these Quotes and award a contract for the base <br />bid in the amount of $98,830.00 to Keys Well Drilling Company based on the results of the bids <br />received.
