CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 24-008 <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING A VACANCY IN THE CITY COUNCIL AND <br />CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony held their municipal election on November 7, <br />2023, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony conducted the official canvass of the results on <br />November 14, 2023; and <br />WHEREAS, Current Councilmember Wendy Webster received the most votes for <br />Mayor; and <br />WHEREAS, a vacancy for Councilmember will exist beginning January 1, 2024 when <br />Wendy Webster assumes her new role as Mayor; and <br />WHEREAS, the term for the vacant Councilmember will end January 5, 2026, which is <br />more than two years remaining, thus requiring a special election to fill the <br />vacancy; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of St. Anthony, Minnesota as <br />follows: <br />The City Council of St. Anthony declares a vacancy for role of Councilmember <br />with a term ending January 5, 2026, and calls for a special election to occur on <br />August 13, 2024 to fill the vacancy. <br />Adopted this 9th day of January, 2024. <br />14 Aeui mac/ <br />Wendy Webster, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />City Clerk <br />Review for Administration: <br />Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />
