<br /> <br />City of St. Anthony <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Minutes <br />April 9, 2024 <br /> <br />Present: <br />Mayor & Council: <br />Mayor Wendy Webster, Councilmembers Lona Doolan, Jan Jenson, Thomas Randle, and Andrea <br />Stephens. <br /> <br />Absent: <br />None. <br />Staff: <br />City Manager Charlie Yunker and City Planner Steve Grittman <br /> <br />Call to Order: <br />Mayor Webster called the Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />1. Approval of CC WS Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />A. February 26, 2024 Council Work Session Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Stephens, to approve the City Council <br />Work Session Meeting Minutes of February 26, 2024 as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />2. Work Session Topics <br /> <br />Mayor Webster requested Item 2B be discussed prior to Item 2A. <br /> <br />B. 2401 Lowry Avenue NE Property Discussion <br /> <br />City Manager Yunker reviewed the staff memo noting this was the old Bremer Bank site. He indicated <br />the property owners approached staff noting the apartment complex that was planned will not be <br />happening. He explained the property owner was now speaking with a charter school. He stated the <br />property owner has also asked if the City would be interested in purchasing the property. It was noted <br />the purchase price for this property was $1.25 million. He asked if the Council wanted staff to further <br />explore this property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jenson questioned who owned this property. Mr. Yunker reported the property was <br />owned by the Interstate, which was the same developer that did the small apartment building on <br />Stinson Boulevard. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jenson stated typically the City was not in the real estate business. <br /> <br />Mayor Webster agreed. <br />
