Social:
These projects are going to be highlight areas for public outreach. Working with the City of Saint Anthony Village,
USFWS, and Rice Creek Watershed District, we will be able to devise an outreach plan to educate any park users about
the importance of pollinator habitat, benefits to water quality, ways in which to establish habitat, and ways to long term
manage these habitats as well. Social outreach may be in the form of QR code signs, actual mounted signs, and possibly
website posts. There are also possibilities to hold outreach events with the public at these areas or even for the schools
nearby. Outreach possibilities are limitless, and these two project areas will not only benefit wildlife but also user groups
at these parks.
Future Habitat Management Goals
1.Continue to monitor prairie for Integrated Plant Management for noxious weeds or introduced vegetation.
2.Providing signage and other education opportunities to inform people about pollinator habitat and
management.
3.Continue to manage the prairie with disturbance intervals every three years utilizing prescribed burns or
haying (mowing and collecting thatch in late fall).
