Parks and Environmental Commission Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 3, 2024 <br />Page 3 <br />1 Ms. Bagus provided an update to the Commission on the last Board Meeting. The <br />2 programming at Silverwood is staying and the park will not be closed. Everything will be kept <br />3 as currently is with continued programming. Some programming will be done offsite. <br />4 <br />5 Ms. Bagus provided brochures for the Commission. <br />6 <br />7 Commissioner Guest stated this is the year of the cicada. Ms. Bagus stated there are some in <br />8 the park. <br />9 <br />10 Chair Fee stated she attended the Board Meeting as well and was very happy all the comments <br />11 regarding Silverwood. <br />12 <br />B.13 Citizens for Sustainability Update. <br />14 <br />15 Citizens for Sustainability Representative Dan Kunitz presented an update of their activities. <br />16 A photograph was shown from the Earth Week Parks Cleanup. <br />17 <br />18 The Citizens for Sustainability Stewardship Scholarships were awarded to Cambell Botts & <br />19 Naomi Teshome. The SAVHS Local Scholarship Program enables business, organizations <br />20 and groups like CFS to directly offset part of graduating seniors college education. These two <br />21 students were recognized for their dedication to environmental stewardship and passion to <br />22 make a difference with $600 scholarships. There were 11 family and individual donors. <br />23 <br />24 Mr. Kunitz asked if the Commission is interested in having a Sustainability Fair. <br />25 Commissioner Holliday stated he staffed the CFS booth at VillageFest last year and suggested <br />26 the Commission and CFS share a booth. He noted the parks were very clean after the clean- <br />27 up. <br />28 <br />29 CFS looks forward to collaborating with the new Sustainability Coordinator – Minette Saulog. <br />30 There will be a CFS booth at VillageFest on August 3, 2024. <br />31 <br />32 Chair Fee stated she noticed a lot of glitter in the park. Chair Fee stated she would be in favor <br />33 of a 2024 Sustainability Fair. <br />34 <br />35 VI.COMMISSION REPORTS. <br />36 <br />A.37 Introduction of Minette Saulog, Sustainability Coordinator. <br />38 <br />39 City Manager Charlie Yunker introduced Minette Saulog to the Commission. She is the new <br />40 Sustainability Coordinator. Minette introduced herself and noted she was the GreenCorp <br />41 Member at St. Anthony five years ago. She is excited to work at St. Anthony. <br />42 <br />B.43 Permeable Paver Policy. <br />44
