ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 24-073 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION FOR <br />THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY'S INTENSIVE COMPREHENSIVE <br />PEACE OFFICER EDUCATION AND TRAINING (ICPOET) PROGRAM GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety developed a plan to address the critical <br />shortage of peace officers in the state by funding grants to recruit, educate and train <br />qualified college graduates to become license -eligible peace officers; and <br />WHEREAS, law enforcement agencies could apply for a reimbursement grant up to $50,000 per <br />eligible candidate; and <br />WHEREAS, the St. Anthony Village Police Department applied for the ICPOET grant and was <br />awarded $50,000; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of St. Anthony Village that: <br />The City Council hereby authorizes the Police Chief to execute the Minnesota's Department of <br />Public Safety's Intensive Comprehensive Peace Officer Education and Training grant on behalf <br />of the City of St. Anthony Village. <br />Adopted this 22nd day of October, 2024. <br />ATTEST: <br />0�4:D7_/__t_ <br />Jennifer Doyle, City berk <br />Reviewed for administration: <br />l-1--- — <br />Wendy Webster, Mayor <br />Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />
