As the City continues implementing its Climate Plan, there are plenty of opportunities for the
PEC to be engaged in the City’s sustainability and environmental work and be a partner in reaching the
wider community and residents. The Climate Plan focus areas of Energy and Transportation will be the
focus for 2025, with Water and Waste being the focus for 2026.
Parks and Environmental Commissioners are asked to participate in a Climate Plan Priority Ranking
activity. This exercise will gather all commissioners’ input and prioritize Climate Plan policy-related
action items. Final prioritization of Climate Plan action items is subject to PEC group consensus and staff
input, and subject to change.
The work plan also outlines ongoing Parks-related projects, as well as general responsibilities of the PEC
that have carried over from previous years. Of note is the request for Parks Commissioners to attend
Joint Meetings with the City Council and Planning Commission, as there are a few joint session topics
anticipated already for 2025. Staff is planning on a joint work session including the PEC, City Council, the
school district and the Sports Boosters to identify existing and future park needs of these key
stakeholders.
ACTION
During the work session, complete the Climate Plan Priority ranking activity.
ATTACHMENTS:
2025 Draft Work Plan
Climate Plan Priority Ranking table
