ANTHONY <br />2 PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />3 DECEMBER 17, 2024 <br />4 7:00 p.m. <br />5 <br />6 CALL TO ORDER. <br />7 <br />8 Chair Socha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />9 <br />10 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />11 <br />12 Chair Socha invited the Commission and the audience to join her in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />13 <br />14 ROLL CALL. <br />15 <br />16 Commissioners Present:Chair Socha, Commissioners Anderson and Hark. <br />17 <br />18 Absent:Commissioners Erickson, Gaveske, Morita and Rude. <br />19 <br />20 Also Present: City Planner Stephen Grittman, Assistant to the City Manager Ashley <br />21 Morello and Student Liaison White. <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 A Quorum was not present. <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 III.PUBLIC HEARING - NONE. <br />28 <br />29 IV.STAFF REPORTS - NONE. <br />30 <br />31 V.OTHER BUSINESS. <br />32 <br />A.33 Planning Commission Work Plan / 2025 Goal Setting Discussion <br />34 <br />35 City Planner Grittman stated the City conducts an annual Goal Setting exercise each January. <br />36 The Goal Setting activities focus on policy direction from the Comprehensive Plan and prior <br />37 goals and implementation steps. A proposed draft of the Planning Commission 2025 Work <br />38 Plan and a summary of Emerging Issues was provided for the Commission. Chair Socha will <br />39 attend the Goal Setting Sessions on behalf of the Planning Commission. <br />40 <br />41 One additional item that may become a land use discussion item in 2025 is the Legislature’s <br />42 consideration of mandating certain housing or housing-related zoning issues. These were <br />43 discussed in 2024 but not adopted. It is expected that the 2025 Legislative session will re- <br />44 animate discussions in this regard. <br />45 <br />46 The Commission is asked to review the topics for thought as to what should be considered as <br />47 the Commission’s work plan for 2025, which will be summarized as background presentation <br />48 for the Goal Setting exercise. From that process, an updated 2025 Work Plan will be created. <br />49
