4 <br />AFFORDABLE HOUSING <br />Staff has drafted ordinance language to <br />regulate short-term rentals per direction <br />given at a joint City Council and Planning <br />Commission held a joint work session on <br />November 21, 2023. City Council and <br />Planning Commission will review and <br />discuss further. <br />Council has attended community <br />meetings with residents and discussed <br />the issue with State representatives <br />during City Day on the Hill on March 7, <br />2024. <br />• Preserve naturally <br />occurring affordable <br />housing (NOAH) <br />• Advocate for residents <br />facing rent pressure <br />SENIOR SERVICES <br />Community Services added classes including community <br />book read, cooking, watercolor art, glass blowing and a <br />facilitated caregivers group. This group functions much like a <br />support group for spouses caring for a spouse with <br />significant health challenges. Also offering senior luncheons <br />with entertainment, defensive driving classes for those aged <br />55+ and many more classes. <br />2024 promotional efforts have included distributing flyers in <br />public buildings throughout St. Anthony, in churches and the <br />library, advertisements in the Northeaster to promote senior <br />luncheons. Once a month, a mass distribution via MailChimp <br />is sent highlighting upcoming classes with links to register. <br />Class information in the weekly SANB School District staff <br />newsletter, biweekly SANB School District family newsletter, <br />and mail brochures sent out a few times a year. <br />• Clarify community partner <br />roles to support services for <br />seniors <br />7 <br />8
