CITY OF SAINT ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 25-031 <br />A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST TO KEEP SIX (6) FEMALE CHICKENS IN AN <br />R-1 ZONING DISTRICT AT 2412 27TH AVE NE <br />WHEREAS, staff received a request from the residents at 2412 2711 Avenue NE for permission to <br />keep chickens on their residential property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony Code of Ordinances, Section 91.56, Keeping of Certain <br />Animals, specifies that livestock, including fowl, require approval from the City <br />Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have submitted a description of the placement and construction of <br />the enclosure that will house the chickens in relation to their property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's ordinance requires that such accessory buildings (primarily the chicken <br />coop) are constructed to be consistent in color with the principal structure; and <br />WHEREAS, subject to the conditions listed below, the proposal appears to meet the city's <br />requirements for such buildings, and will not create negative impacts to public health, <br />safety, and welfare; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony Village <br />approves the request to keep six (6) female chickens in an R-1 Zoning District at 2412 2711 Avenue <br />NE, subject to the following conditions: <br />A. The applicant shall verify that the facility is no closer than five (5) feet to the <br />neighboring property line. <br />B.
