CITY OF SAINT ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />MINUTES <br />MAY 13, 2025 <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Mayor & Council: <br />Mayor Wendy Webster, Councilmembers Jan Jensen, Thomas Randle, Lona Doolan and Nadia Elnagdy <br />Staff: <br />City Manager Charlie Yunker and Assistant City Manager Ashley Morello <br />Other Attendees: <br />Ms. Maya Kruger and students from Saint Anthony Middle School <br />CALL TO ORDER: <br />Mayor Wendy Webster called the Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />1.Approval of CC WS Meeting Minutes <br />A.April 22, 2025 City Council Work Session and April 29, 2025 City Council Work Session <br />Minutes <br />Motion by Councilmember Doolan, seconded by Councilmember Jenson to approve the City Council <br />Work Session Minutes of April 22, 2025 and the City Council Work Session April 29, 2025 as presented. <br />2.Work Session Topics <br />A.Student Community Development Project Presentations <br />Mayor Webster welcomed the students and Ms. Kruger to the meeting. Mayor Webster invited Ms. <br />Kruger to describe the scope of the student’s projects to the Council. <br />Ms. Kruger explained that that she teaches a Capstone course were students are tasked with a K2A <br />Project – or Knowledge to Action Project. These projects are designed to encourage students to problem <br />solve with ideas and action steps. This year, the students were assigned to propose a development at <br />3803 Stinson Boulevard, a city-owned property that is currently undeveloped. Ms. Kruger described the <br />project, explaining that the students were tasked with proposing an idea for the site, understanding <br />existing challenges, engaging with stakeholders, and create a presentation to communicate their <br />proposed solution and opportunity. <br />Five student groups had the opportunity to present their proposals. Proposals including a community <br />garden, a community café, a pet shelter and activity center, a recreation center, and a library. Council <br />members asked questions for each student presentation. <br />3
