ANTHONY <br />2 PARKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION WORK SESSION MEETING <br />3 MAY 21, 2025 <br />4 5:30 p.m. <br />5 <br />I.6 CALL TO ORDER. <br />7 <br />8 Chairperson Fee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />9 <br />II.10 ROLL CALL. <br />11 <br />12 Commissioners Present:Chair Lily Fee, Commissioners Yaacoub Hark, Kristen Peterson, <br />13 Jessica Swiontek (arrived at 5:50 p.m.), and Natalie Synhavsky <br />14 <br />15 Absent:None <br />16 <br />17 Also Present: Assistant City Manager Ashley Morello, City Planner Stephen <br />18 Grittman, and Sustainability Coordinator Minette Saulog <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 III.APPROVAL OF THE MAY 21, 2025, PARKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL <br />22 COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA. <br />23 <br />24 Motion by Commissioner Peterson, seconded by Commissioner Hark, to approve the May 21, <br />25 2025, Parks and Environmental Commission agenda. <br />26 <br />27 Motion carried unanimously. <br />28 <br />29 IV.APPROVAL OF THE APRIL 2, 2025, WORK SESSION PARKS AND <br />30 ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES. <br />31 <br />32 Motion by Commissioner Peterson, seconded by Commissioner Hark, to approve the April 2, <br />33 2025, Work Session Parks and Environmental Commission Meeting Minutes as presented. <br />34 <br />35 Motion carried unanimously. <br />36 <br />37 V.WORK SESSION TOPICS <br />38 <br />A.39 Climate Plan Overview: Transportation <br />40 <br />41 Sustainability Coordinator Minette Saulog reviewed a PowerPoint presentation, “Climate Plan <br />42 Overview Transportation Focus Area.” Ms. Saulog provided the background: <br />43 The Transportation section is a Climate Plan focus area for the City in 2025, along <br />44 with the Energy section. <br />45 PEC will focus on supporting action items and strategies that are policy-oriented, <br />46 which are being reviewed tonight. The Climate Plan includes the full list of strategies <br />47 that include these, as well as education and operations-oriented strategies being owned <br />48 by staff.
