Parks and Environmental Commission Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 2, 2025 <br />Page 2 <br />1 <br />2 V.PRESENTATIONS. <br />3 <br />A.4 Citizens for Sustainability Update. <br />5 <br />6 Citizens for Sustainability Co-chair Dan Kunitz reviewed a PowerPoint including Earth Week <br />7 Update, Environmental Stewardship Scholarship, and VillageFest. Mr. Kunitz thanked all the <br />8 Earth Week Volunteers and Sponsors: <br />9 Salo Park – 21 volunteers – SAV Condo Association and PEC <br />10 Central Park – 11 volunteers – CFS & PEC <br />11 Silver Point Park – 5 volunteers – CFS & PEC <br />12 Water Tower Park – 5 volunteers – CFS & PEC <br />13 Emerald Park – 2 volunteers – CFS & PEC <br />14 Trillium Park – 16 volunteers – Village Gardeners & PEC <br />15 Silver Lake Road & County Road E – 12 volunteers – Pack and Troop 153 and local <br />16 families. <br />17 Highway 88 Cleanup – 18 volunteers – SAV Kiwanis & Key Club. <br />18 Silver Lake Cleanup – Families around the lake. <br />19 Wilshire Park – Girl Scouts <br />20 SAMS – Students <br />21 <br />22 The SAVHS Local Scholarship Program enables businesses, organizations, and groups like <br />23 CFS to directly offset park of graduating seniors’ college education. Two students are <br />24 recognized for their dedication to environmental stewardship and passion to make a difference <br />25 with $500 scholarships. Mr. Kunitz thanked families and individual donors. <br />26 <br />27 Citizens for Sustainability can be found at VillageFest. Residents are encouraged to share <br />28 their environmental stories, view student environmental projects, sign up to win an energy <br />29 savings giveaway, enjoy kids' face painting, and join CFS for a chat. <br />30 <br />31 Chair Fee asked Mr. Kunitz who the other Co-chair of the committee is. Mr. Kunitz stated <br />32 Lona Doolan helps with the planning and her connections. <br />33 <br />B.34 Silverwood Park Update. <br />35 <br />36 Silverwood Program Supervisor Alyssa Baguss reviewed a PowerPoint.
