9/5/2025 <br />11 <br />Future Budget Topics <br />After Preliminary Levy adoption, focus shifts to Capital levies for CIP, Buildings and Parks funds <br />Continuing cost increases for equipment and major facility maintenance and upgrades <br />Long-Term Facility needs to plan for: <br />•Feasibility of a Public Safety Facility or address space needs for both Fire and Police Departments <br />•Long-Term Community Center vision and plan <br />New Parks Amenities requests and extraordinary costs: <br />•Pickleball courts to replace old tennis court - $350,000 <br />•Dog Park at a location to be determined - $200,000 <br />•Upgrade of field lighting to LED - $500,000+ <br />Additional Considerations <br />Staff will present the preliminary 2026 Budget and Property Tax Levy to the City Council for <br />approval. At this meeting a resolution will need to be passed certifying the preliminary levy to <br />Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. <br />September 9 <br />City Council Meeting: <br />Staff will present the proposed 2026 updates to the long-term capital budget plans.October 14 <br />Council Work Session: <br />Staff will present the proposed 2026 utility rate adjustments and budgetsOctober 28 <br />Council Work Session: <br />Staff will present the 2026 long term capital budgets as revised.
