City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />October 14, 2025 <br />Page 6 <br />1 Meeting. Later that day, he attended the Annual Water Quality Report Press Release. On October <br />2 10, he attended the Ramsey County Local League of Governments Program Meeting. On <br />3 October 6, he handed out the flyers regarding the addition of fire department personnel. <br />4 <br />5 Councilmember Elnagdy stated that on September 30, she attended the Joint Meeting with the <br />6 School Board. On October 8, she participated in the Wellness Fair. On October 9, she attended <br />7 the Community Service Advisory Committee. <br />9 Mayor Webster stated on September 30, she and Mr. Yunker met with residents and later that <br />10 day attended the Joint Meeting with the School Board. On October 2, she attended the First <br />11 Community Engagement Session on the Fire Department Staffing proposal. The next session <br />12 will be held on October 20 at 6 p.m. On October 4, she attended the Fire Station Open House. On <br />13 Oct 6, she attended a meeting with Congressman Omar and other Mayors. <br />14 <br />15 XI. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />16 <br />17 Mr. Dave Borton, 2550 38`h Avenue NE, and Mr. Connor Borton-Guest, 3626 Belden Dr NE, <br />18 (Grandfather and Grandson), have been working on gun control for 4 years. He is a member of <br />19 Veterans for Peace. The leading cause of death of children in our culture is gun deaths. They <br />20 asked the City Council to prohibit the sale or transfer of assault weapons. He noted some of the <br />21 tragic school shootings. There have been 158 mass shootings in the USA, where 86% of fatalities <br />22 were the result of these assault weapons. There are 20 million of these weapons in the USA. No <br />23 hunter needs a gun that shoots multiple rounds. Drills are held at Wilshire School to practice for <br />24 active shooters. Mr. Borton invited the Council to join the 17 other cities to approve a resolution <br />25 banning the sale or transfer of assault weapons. <br />26 <br />27 XII. Future Agenda Items. <br />30 <br />31 The next Regular Council Meeting will be held on October 28, 2025. <br />32 <br />33 Councilmember Doolan announced on October 20 at 6:00 p.m., there will be another session <br />34 regarding the Fire Department staffing. On October 25, there will be a Fix -It Clinic from 10:00 <br />35 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. along with Electronics Recycling. <br />36 <br />37 XIII.
