PUBLIC EV CHARGERS City Council Work Session <br />November 25, 2025 <br />BACKGROUND <br />ConsiderationsSteps Taken <br />•Consider adopting a policy on publicly-facing charging <br />infrastructure. <br />•Determine most effective locations for EV charging stations at <br />public facilities in SAV. <br />•Integrate predicted installation expenses into the budget. <br />Identify a vendor and develop an installation plan. <br />Climate Plan Transportation Action <br />•Program funding ran out during planning discussions with staff <br />•Locations under review were identified during this process and <br />originally based on commercial viability. <br />2022: City engaged with Xcel Energy for a <br />no-cost EV charging station program <br />•Is this a service/amenity we want to offer? <br />•If pursued, revenue anticipated to cover installation costs, and <br />ongoing future maintenance <br />•Consideration for long-term offerings (i.e. upgrading in future <br />as technology advances) <br />2025: Resident approached City to offer a <br />donation of several Level 2 chargers for <br />public use <br />1 <br />2 <br />10
