MEMORANDUM <br />To:Saint Anthony Village City Council <br />From:Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />Date:November 25, 2025 <br />Request: Approval of Resolution 25-077 – Supporting a Statewide Ban on the Future Sale <br />and Transfer of Military-Style Assault Weapons and High-Capacity Magazines <br />BACKGROUND <br />Before the City Council is consideration to adopt a resolution to support a statewide ban on the future <br />sale and transfers of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. <br />At the October 14, 2025 City Council meeting, members from the public spoke during Community Forum <br />regarding gun violence, particularly related to its impact on school aged children. The City Council then <br />discussed the topic further at the November 17 work session, with direction from Council to present a <br />resolution at a regular meeting for approval. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 25-077. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution 25-077 <br />44
