This is a sharp <br />increase from 2022 when the average <br />yearly cost was $10,728. Car ownership <br />should not be a requirement for getting <br />around safely and efficiently. <br />ENVIRONMENT <br />Minnesota must reduce transportation <br />related greenhouse gas emissions by 80% and <br />vehicle miles travelled by 20% by 2050 to <br />reach its climate goals. Saint Anthony Village <br />has goals to reduce city-wide CO2 emissions <br />by 80% by 2040. <br />Walking and biking networks reduce our <br />dependence on driving to get around, leading <br />to cleaner air and reduced climate impacts. <br />ECONOMY <br />Active transportation means business; it <br />stimulates local economies through job <br />creation, tourism and business <br />development. <br />People biking make more frequent trips <br />than people driving, spending more <br />money at local businesses. <br />Why Active Transportation Matters <br />Cortright, J.
