There are no
sidewalks on 34th Avenue Northeast, so students
often continue walking on the north side of the
street (walking with traffic on their right side,
rather than against traffic on their left).
Belden Drive Northeast has no
sidewalk, but participants felt
comfortable walking in the road with
the relatively low traffic volumes.
While on-street parking is allowed, it
was not heavily used.
This segment of 33rd Avenue
Northeast did not have a sidewalk on
the south side. Participants found the
north sidewalk uncomfortable, with
frequent driveway slopes, garbage
cans obstructing the path, and some
children biking on the sidewalk.
Participants were concerned about
vehicle traffic entering and exiting
the parking/drop-off areas. Visibility
is challenging at corners and people
walking do not always feel seen by
drivers entering/exiting the
driveways.
