While <br />on-street parking is allowed, it was not heavily <br />used, with only one car parked on the street <br />during the walk audit. <br />Participants noted they may not have felt <br />comfortable walking in the street with small <br />children or during busier times when there <br />are activities at the church. <br />33rd Avenue Northeast from Belden <br />Drive Northeast to Silver Lake Road <br />Northeast <br />There is a sidewalk only on the north side of <br />33rd Avenue Northeast, and it is adjacent to <br />vehicle traffic. It was obstructed by garbage <br />cans out for collection. The sidewalk cross <br />slopes, which match the frequent intersecting <br />driveway slopes, were noted as challenging for <br />people using mobility devices. Children were <br />biking on the sidewalk during the walk audit.33rd Avenue Northeast & Belden <br />Drive Northeast <br />There is no dedicated, accessible space for <br />people waiting at the bus stop on the <br />northeast or southwest corners of the <br />intersection. Curb ramps at this intersection <br />(and at residential intersections along 33rd <br />Avenue Northeast) do not have tactile <br />warnings and are generally in poor condition. <br />There are no painted crosswalks. <br />33rd Avenue Northeast & Silver Lake <br />Road Northeast <br />Silver Lake Road Northeast is four lanes wide at <br />this crossing location. The traffic signal includes <br />pedestrian push buttons and a pedestrian <br />crossing phase. Participants wondered about the <br />signal timing, noting that there are two <br />preschools nearby and families may need more <br />time to safely navigate the intersection. Others <br />noted the increased volume of vehicle noise at <br />this intersection compared to the calmer <br />neighborhood streets earlier on the route. <br />WALK AUDIT KEY FINDINGS, CONTINUED
